Here are the two activities I told you to do for next Tuesday (May 21st). I'm also including a link to the official video and the lyrics of the song. Have a nice weekend!

ACTIVITIES

- What is this song about? Write a paragraph to explain what the song is about in your own words, before that, use an online dictionary to look up the words you don’t understand. Don’t use a translator!
- What would you do if today was your last day? Which of the things suggested in the song would you do first (stanzas 2 and 4)? Are there any things that you wouldn’t do at all? Why not?

Do you like these songs?

I've chosen these three songs suggested by Jesús González (1), Rocío Pérez (2) and Francisco Jesús López (3). I really like the three of them and I think it's a good start although it might be a bit late for the ambitious project I promised you. You can write a comment for one, two or the three of them.

Which recipe do you prefer and why? Now try to write down the recipe in your notebook. Do you remember all the ingredients and steps? We'll check this exercise in class. Good luck!

 

Inner beauty or outer beauty?

After studying vocabulary about fairy tales you now know who 'Sleeping Beauty' and 'Beauty and the Beast' are. Heroines are usually presented as beautiful women in fairy tales and villains are ugly or not beautiful on the inside, but how do we know that someone or something is beautiful? Do 'Inner Beauty' and 'Outer Beauty' have to go hand in hand? Who decides what the standards of beauty have to be like?

My only intention is to make you think about these two concepts of beauty and the saying 'Beauty is in the eye of the beholder' (whose literal meaning is 'the perception of beauty is subjective').

I leave you two links on quotes about beauty for you to read and say which  one(s) you like most and why. Do you think that most people refer to inner beauty or outer beauty as the most important thing in their quotes?  Express your opinion!
